| | | Hi, I am currently doing a study on the marine electronics markets, principally focusing on SatComms and Navigation systems. I am interested in understanding more about Integrated Bridge Systems and also ECDIS given the new regulatory requirements. In particular I am interested in knowing the approximate cost of an IBS by vessel type as well as the cost of retro-fitting ECDIS to meet regulations. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, if you require any further information please ask. Many thanks, William Adkins 07887 456 696 | william.adkins@rolandberger.com | No | 23/08/2012 19:38 | |

| | | Good Morning, I would like to purchase 2x complete south coast leisure packs, 5600 through to 5606. It appears your web page has the 13th edition as the latest, but I am sure that there is a 14th edition already in the chandlry. Can you please confirm which are the lastest packs and if any are to be replaced soon, before I waste money on folios that are to be replaced or have already been superseded. Thanks for your help. | | | Hello We are Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC). We have a small Marin ship handling simulator with ECDIS for the approaches and harbour of two of our ports. i.e. Khalifa and Musaffah. We need to have up to date input charts to correct errors we have found in the simulator displays. Please see below part of an email from the Simulator provider which will be self explanatory (I hope). I am not very familiar with ECDIS and ENCs so I am looking for guidance. "The Khalifa Port database is originally designed from paper charts or Autocad drawings and are not that accurate that they fit on an ENC. There are 2 ways to solve this problem: • If ADPC makes use of an open ENC (000 cell) and can make this available to MARIN we can read this cell and make the databases exact the same. • The other way around is to deliver the exact positions (LAT/LON or UTM) of conspicuous points (buoys, lights, end of wave breaker, corner of quays, etc. so we can make it better. Most of the time a small rotation and move of the database will make it fit. The first option is by far the best one. The other one is hard to check at our premises. I expect this will be the same for the Musaffah channel. We did receive the original database from HR Wallingford (used for design studies in earlier stage). I do not know on what basis this one is created." How do we obtain 'open' electronic copies of the charts as described above and what will be the cost? The most recent paper charts 3752, 3713 and 3715 are based on surveys provided by the Company and now we need to update our simulator database from the electronic versions of the charts. Are you able to assist? Kind regards Christopher
