Four New Features We’ve Added to ADMIRALTY Digital Publications That Aid Passage Planning (Part 1)

We regularly add new features to all our electronic ADMIRALTY Mariytime Products & Services, allowing you to take full advantage of the latest benefits in digital passage planning and navigation.

ADMIRALTY Digital Publications (ADP) is one of the latest products to receive one of these upgrades, with Version 14.1 helping you to simplify your passage planning tasks.

Here we take a look at viewing ADP products as an overlay in Planning Station‘s Applications Screen and using ADP’s Print Preview function to display compliance. Make sure you revisit the blog next week when we discuss the Marine Service Area Menu that’s been added to ADMIRALTY Digital Radio Signals Volume 6 (ADRS 6) and the recent release of ADMIRALTY Digital Radio Signals Volume 2.

Make quicker, more informed passage planning decisions by overlaying all ADP products in Planning Station

All ADP products in Version 14.1 can be easily overlaid on AVCS and ARCS charts within Planning Station’s ‘Applications’ screen.

Unique to ADP and Planning Station users, this feature helps you to view relevant navigational information in one place, making it easier to plan voyages and view intended routes in detail.

How to use this feature:

  • When in Planning Station select the ‘Applications’ tab.

  • Tick the AVCS or ARCS icon in the left hand ‘Products’ menu and select the chart you wish to view.

  • Now tick the ADP product you wish to overlay on top of your selected chart.

  • Planning Station will now overlay data from your selected ADP product on top of your selected chart.

Viewing your certificate is easy with ADP’s Print Preview feature

Helping with Port State inspections, ADP Version 14.1′s Print Preview feature allows you to quickly display which week you’re updated to, as well as the areas and products you are licensed to use. This simple process saves you time on the bridge and allows you to quickly identify your coverage status without the use of a printer.

To use this feature:

  • Open the Updating Wizard. This appears when you initially open any ADP program. You can also access it by clicking the Updating Wizard button in the top right hand corner of the application.

  • Select the ‘Preview’ button on the left hand side of the ‘Updating Wizard’ window.

  • You will now see a preview of your certificate which clearly displays your coverage and licence status.
