Managing and ordering navigational charts and publications is an essential, but time-consuming part of passage planning. Simplify and speed up ADMIRALTY product ordering
Planning Station’s geographical catalogue allows you to quickly identify the products required for an intended voyage using the Route Plotting Tool. This can help you to keep costs and download sizes under control by ordering only those charts and publications needed for a voyage. Planning Station v3.4 users will also experience smaller download sizes for many ENC data updates due to compressed AVCS chart data, helping you to keep download costs down.
How to use this feature:
When in Planning Station, go to the Catalogue page.
Select the types of product that you would like to order using the Product Selection Panel. This is located in the top left of the screen.
Select the ‘Plot route’ tool from the cursor toolbar and use left click to plot waypoints on the geographical display. Then double click to plot the final point.
Once a route has been plotted, ensure the ‘Plot route’ tab is selected above the tabular display and then click on the ‘Route to basket’ button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Easily identify areas of possible navigational uncertainty and risk with AIO
ADMIRALTY Information Overlay (AIO) allows you to quickly and easily view Temporary and Preliminary Notices to Mariners, as well as identified discrepancies between paper charts and ENCs. This can help you to make more informed decisions regarding your intended passage and makes it easier to identify any potential hazards. Find out more about AIO by clicking here.
Planning Station 3.4 users can also download AIO updates for use on ECDIS, allowing you to update ECDIS WITH T&P and EP Notices to Mariners without an update disk. Find out how to do this here.
How to use this feature:
When in Planning Station, go to the ‘Applications’ page.
Tick the AVCS icon in the Product Selection Panel to the left of the screen.
Now either zoom in to the chart that you wish to view on the geographical display or select the chart by clicking on the Installed Charts Button on the charts control panel.
Now go to the AIO tab on the charts control panel and tick Display ADMIRALTY Information Overlay.
Planning Station will now display the ADMIRALTY Information Overlay on top of your selected AVCS ENC.
