How to use ADMIRALTY QR codes

Introduced to ADMIRALTY paper charts in 2013, Quick Response (QR) codes are designed to provide you with quick access to current planning information for the chart you’re using. This information can include the latest Notices to Mariners, Preliminary Notices to Mariners, 7 day tidal forecasts and Port information for commercial routes.

These codes can be found on all charts within the Port Approach Guide range and provide you with information on significant changes to port areas. You can also find QR codes on Standard Nautical Charts and Routeing Guides printed after July 2013.

To access the information contained within each code, simply scan using your mobile phone and a QR code reader app (these can be downloaded for free from Apple and Google app stores). The short film below outlines this process.
